  • Excellent communication skills – responding to queries via email,  telephone and providing support to both internal and external customers
  • Be confident and able to challenge when the need arises
  • Reliable in approach to work and adaptable to fit into different teams and environments
  • Highly organised, self-sufficient, able to work on own initiative and able to work to tight deadlines
  • Experience in using WMS such as RoadRunner and Emperica is desirable
  • Experience of working within the transport or warehousing sector is desirable

Warehouse Charge Hand

Sunday to Thursday (8pm-6am).

Supporting the Shift Supervisor and Wisbech Warehouse Manager with effective management and supervision of the shifts operations, including distribution of workload for all Warehouse Operatives including agency labour that is allocated to the operation.

The required skills and experience for this role are as follows:

  • Strong PC based knowledge including intermediate skills and knowledge of Excel and web based systems
  • Previous Experience of using Emperica and Road Runner or similar would be advantageous
  • Strong Leadership and Management skills with the ability to delegate and supervise individuals
  • Diligent attention to detail and attention to safety of themselves and others around the workplace
  • Confident individual who can challenge when the need arises and at the appropriate level
  • Mature, professional approach, confidence to communicate and deal with all levels of people
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills working on your own

Key Accountabilities are:

  • Operating IT systems
  • When covering for the Supervisor, managing the staff on shift

Ensure effective and efficient running of the warehouse function and customer satisfaction by:

  • Ensure warehouse supervisor is kept informed of all operational issues, in particular those that may lead to service disruption or non- delivery
  • Ensure that the Company’s health and safety policies and guidelines are adhered to.
  • To achieve the expected hourly output as determined by the site daily volumes
  • To control the reworking of stock and the decanting of containers as and when required.
  • To control the accuracy of receiving, picking and dispatch
  • Effective intake of goods and supplies from all customers
  • Correct storing of goods – Monitoring locations and carrying out checks to ensure the teams accuracy

Responsible for delivering and collecting customers’ products, meeting both the company and customers’ Service Level Agreements. Ensuring all work undertaken is done so in line with current driver’s hours, Tachograph and Working Time Directive legislation. Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience of working within a Transport environment
  • Comfortable with being based on the road
  • Required to regularly work to tight deadlines that may require additional hours of work at times of pressure
  • Flexibility is required during peak periods e.g. Christmas, Easter, etc. and to work additional shifts to cover holiday and sickness
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines in a time critical environment
  • Professional and courteous when communicating with colleagues or customers
  • C or C+E UK Licence
  • Up to date CPC Training
  • Ability to multi‐task and work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with Customers and Co‐Workers

  • Must have own transport and full UK driving licence and own transportation to work

Key Accountabilities:

  • Providing high standard of customer service and relations to customers and suppliers, ensuring compliance with their site rules and regulations at all times
  • Liaising with the Operations desk to make them aware of any potential difficulties or any variations from original brief
  • Ensuring that the vehicle is driven at all times with the utmost concern for other road users, pedestrians and the local environments through which you travel
  • To accurately complete all documentation required by the Company and the customer
  • Ensuring that all Company rules and regulations and compliance with legislation is achieved at all times
  • Ensuring that paperwork is checked against consignment, reporting any issues or differences
  • To strive to ensure the punctual collection and delivery of all loads
  • Ensuring the safety of the vehicle and its load at all times whilst on duty and reporting any defects to the Traffic office/Workshop as soon as identified
  • Assisting with the loading and unloading of the vehicle, using lifting equipment where authorised and trained to do so
  • To be flexible in terms of starting and finishing times of shifts
  • To maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle whilst on duty, leaving the vehicle as you would expect to find it and reporting of any defects immediately
  • To undertake any other tasks as reasonably requested by Depot Management
  • To maintain trailer hygiene to the standards set by our customer including sweeping out of the trailers as and when required or instructed.
