The Role:

Supporting the Shift Supervisor and Warehouse Manager with effective management and supervision of the shifts operations, including distribution of workload for all Warehouse Operatives including agency labour that is allocated to the operation.

Requirements:

  • Strong PC based knowledge including intermediate skills and knowledge of Excel and web-based systems.
  • Previous Experience of using Emperica and Road Runner or similar would be advantageous.
  • Strong Leadership and Management skills with the ability to delegate and supervise individuals.
  • Diligent attention to detail and attention to safety of themselves and others around the workplace.
  • Confident individual who can challenge when the need arises and at the appropriate level.
  • Mature, professional approach, confidence to communicate and deal with all levels of people.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills working on your own.

Key Accountabilities are:

  • Operating IT systems when covering for the Supervisor, managing the staff on shift.
  • Ensure effective and efficient running of the warehouse function and customer satisfaction by:
    • Ensure warehouse supervisor is kept informed of all operational issues, in particular those that may lead to service disruption or non-delivery.
    • Ensure that the Company’s health and safety policies and guidelines are adhered to.
    • To achieve the expected hourly output as determined by the site daily volumes.
    • To control the reworking of stock and the decanting of containers as and when required.
    • To control the accuracy of receiving, picking and dispatch.
    • Effective intake of goods and supplies from all customers.
    • Correct storing of goods – Monitoring locations and carrying out checks to ensure the teams accuracy.

MHE & Operations Trainer

Main purpose of the role:
To be an integral part of the operations team and support across all sites, delivering fully comprehensive training on MHE equipment and operational processes.
Driving the Knowles Health & Safety culture by working cohesively with our Health & Safety team.
Assist with on boarding new members of staff as part of the induction process.
Own the training schedule for all company MHE users.
Oversee the racking inspection schedule

Skills
RTITB qualified trainer
A full UK driving licence
Experience of delivering training in a warehouse environment
Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Strong team player with excellent organisational & prioritisation skills
Sema racking inspection experience

Key Accountabilities
Equipment Training & Assessments
Deliver training or competence assessments on MHE including Counterbalance, Pivot, PPT, Pump trucks, Double Handler attachment, Rotate attachment, Slip Sheet attachment
Deliver all new starter training on the operation of other operational equipment
Schedule, plan & execute refresher training which may include working late shifts

Health & Safety
Work with the site management team to meet and maintain BRC standards and attend relevant H&S meetings
Post incident or accident assessment & retraining

Warehouse Hygienist

Monday - Friday 7.30am - 6pm

Main Responsibilities
The be an essential part of the Warehouse team by ensuring the cleanliness and safety of all Warehouse facilities.

Must Have skills / experience
A mature and professional approach with the ability to think quickly on your feet and confidently make decisions
Excellent organisational and planning skills in order to plan your own daily workload

Be flexible in your approach
A hands on approach with a keen eye for details

Desirable skills / experience
Previous cleaning experience is beneficial but not essential
Flexibility with your hours and willingness to work overtime if needed to support the needs of the business

Key Accountabilities.
General:

Cleaning of all Warehouse areas internally & externally
Ensure the cleaning cupboard stock is replenished and recorded
Ensure weekly cleaning schedule is completed Replenishments of all user products including toilet rolls, soaps and sanitisers in all welfare facilities
Ensure any cleaning equipment is maintained and any issues reported to line manager

Communication
Communicate any issues or concerns to the site management team in a timely manner
Confirm all weekly tasks have been completed in full to the Warehouse Manager at the end of each week for sign off

Teamwork
Encourage teamwork within the workplace by displaying the correct behaviours at all times towards all members of the Knowles Logistics Ltd teams
Help to welcome new starters into the business by offering a friendly face and be approachable for help at all times

Health and Safety
Maintain compliance with the site H&S standards at all times
Attend any relevant training courses as requested
Ensure that all lifting and moving of products are carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures
Adhere to COSHH standards at all times including the accurate completion of any relevant paperwork and records
Notify management of occurring deficiencies repairs to building fabric or equipment

The ability to multi‐task and work in a fast paced environment. Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with Customers and Co‐Workers. Ensuring a high standard of hygiene at all times, clean as you go work ethic (damages, spillages and general hygiene are maintained at all times)

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience of working within a Warehouse environment

  • Quality – Ensure product is loaded correctly and safely for transit – 99%
  • Cost – Ensure safe storage and loading to eradicate breakages – 1%

Key Accountabilities:

Customer Service

Ensure effective and efficient running of the warehouse function and customer satisfaction by: 

  • Taking delivery of goods and supplies
  • Storing of goods
  • Picking of goods
  • Preparation of stock
  • Loading of stock by hand, pump truck or forklift
  • Keep accurate records of stocks
  • Assisting with stock taking as and when required
  • Keeping warehouse and work area clean and tidy through use of chemicals and non hazardous equipment
  • Use of the correct methods for manual handling
  • Use of automatic wrapper to correct procedure
  • Completion of relevant paperwork
  • Correct completion of the picking and unloading paperwork and IT based systems
  • Ensuring cleanliness of stock and warehouse (this includes cleaning spillages and damages as they happen or on discovery)

Communication

  • Contact internal customers to resolve any queries or problem that may arise with paperwork
  • Responding to and dealing with customer communication by email and telephone

Teamwork

  • Encouraging teamwork within the workplace by displaying the correct behaviours towards all members of the Knowles Transport Ltd teams
  • Maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment, for example, ensuring that stock such as chemicals and food are stored safely and securely and reporting of any concerns or near misses to the Site Manager
