The required skills and experience for this role are as follows:

  • Strong PC based knowledge including intermediate skills and knowledge of Excel and web based systems
  • Previous Experience of using Emperica and Road Runner or similar would be advantageous
  • Strong Leadership and Management skills with the ability to delegate and supervise individuals
  • Diligent attention to detail and attention to safety of themselves and others around the workplace
  • Confident individual who can challenge when the need arises and at the appropriate level

Key Accountabilities are:

  • Operating IT systems
  • When covering for the Supervisor, managing the staff on shift
  • Ensure effective and efficient running of the warehouse function and customer satisfaction by:
  • Ensure warehouse supervisor is kept informed of all operational issues, in particular those that may lead to service disruption or non-delivery
  • Ensure that the Company’s health and safety policies and guidelines are adhered to.
  • To achieve the expected hourly output as determined by the site daily volumes
  • To control the reworking of stock and the decanting of containers as and when required.
  • To control the accuracy of receiving, picking and dispatch
  • Effective intake of goods and supplies from all customers
  • Correct storing of goods – Monitoring locations and carrying out checks to ensure the teams accuracy

What does the role involve?

Effective management and supervision of the operation including distribution of workload for all warehouse operatives and FLT drivers including agency labour. You will have the ability to function well as part of a team and have very effective organisational and communication skills.

What should your skills and knowledge be?

Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working within a warehouse and office environment in a management position.

Have strong leadership and management skills, be a confident and competent communicator with the ability to delegate and supervise individuals.

Diligent when completing tasks paying great attention to detail and the ability to multi‐task when working in a fast paced environment with a flexible and adaptable approach.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders effectively and appropriately.

Highly organised, self-sufficient and able to work to tight deadlines both autonomously and as part of a team.

Highly IT competent with at least one years’ experience of working with Warehouse Management systems.

Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Excel spreadsheets.

Ability to meet and report on targets, goals and KPI’s within department.

 

Advantageous but not essential

IOSH certificate or equivalent for Health & Safety and housekeeping standards.

Must have own transport and full UK driving licence and own transportation to work.

Warehouse Operatives

Monday - Friday 7.30am - 6pm

The key responsibilities in this role include:

Taking delivery of goods and supplies
Storing of goods
Preparation of stock
Loading of stock by hand, pump truck or forklift
Keeping Warehouse and work area clean and tidy through use of chemicals and non hazardous equipment
Use of the correct methods for manual handling
Correct completion of the picking and unloading paperwork and IT based systems
Ensuring cleanliness of Stock and Warehouse (this includes cleaning spillages and damages as they happen or on discovery)

Must Haves:
Excellent interpersonal skills
Counterbalance experience is essential
Ability to work under pressure to support and deliver were needed
Relevant experience of MHE used by the operation would be desirable
Encouraging teamwork within the workplace by displaying the correct behaviours and attitude
Be able to work on your own or as part of a team and be able to make important decisions using you own initiative

Requirements:

  • Comfortable with being based on the road
  • Required to regularly work to tight deadlines that may require additional hours of work at times of pressure
  • Flexibility is required during peak periods e.g. Christmas, Easter, etc. and to work additional shifts to cover holiday and sickness

Key Accountabilities:

  • Providing high standard of customer service and relations to customers and suppliers, ensuring compliance with their site rules and regulations at all times
  • Liaising with the Transport desk to make them aware of any potential difficulties or any variations from original brief
  • Ensuring that the vehicle is driven at all times with the utmost concern for other road users, pedestrians and the local environments through which you travel
  • To accurately complete all documentation required by the Company and the customer
  • Ensuring that all Company rules and regulations and compliance with legislation is achieved at all times
  • Ensuring that paperwork is checked against consignment, reporting any issues or differences
  • To strive to ensure the punctual collection and delivery of all loads
  • Ensuring the safety of the vehicle and its load at all times whilst on duty and reporting any defects to the Traffic office/Workshop as soon as identified
  • Assisting with the loading and unloading of the vehicle, using lifting equipment where authorised and trained to do so
  • To be flexible in terms of starting and finishing times of shifts
  • To maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle whilst on duty, leaving the vehicle as you would expect to find it and reporting of any defects immediately
  • To undertake any other tasks as reasonably requested by Transport Operator
  • To maintain trailer hygiene to the standards set by our customer including sweeping out of the trailers as and when required or instructed.
